Most units are still operational. The equipment and artifacts are on display to give an historical look at firefighting. In early 1999, the Firehouse added and air-conditioned classroom for viewing fire safety videos. Tours are by reservation only. Children touring the facility will receive fire safety information to take home with them. The purpose of the Museum is to conduct fire safety tours FREE OF CHARGE to elementary schools, preschools, day care centers, mom's groups, home school groups and any groups interested in touring the facility and learning about fire safety. Individuals are encouraged to tour the facility when a group has a reserved tour. Tours are booked for groups of 10 or more children. Tours of the Firehouse will be about 30-45 minutes, depending on the age of the visitors. There will be an opportunity for the children to briefly board a fire engine that has working lights and sirens. When children go over to the theater, they will be viewing an age-appropriate fire safety video that will last about 30 minutes. After the movie, children are directed to the playground/picnic area so they can have their brown bag lunches and then enjoy the playground equipment and facilities. You should allow sufficient time for eating and playing. In figuring travel time to and from the Museum, along with time here, you can plan your day. Your group can stay as long as they would like, as there is no time limit. **DONATIONS ARE ENCOURAGED**
